Stefanie Zechner, PhD
is the Program Director in Training and Education of ECPM at the University of Basel.
Her early interest in the Life Sciences brought her to Basel where she studied Clinical Psychology and received a PhD in Neuropsychology.
Soon after her graduation from university, Stefanie joined pharmaceutical industry as Clinical Scientist and supported a number of phase I & II studies in different therapeutic areas. As Clinical Trial Head at Novartis, she led the phase III registration trial for Exelon® Patch in Alzheimers’ Disease, and helped to bring the drug to market. In this process, she found her passion was working with professionals and enabling them to perform. Once Exelon Patch was launched, she took the decision to transition out of R&D and into HR. Since this move in 2008, Stefanie supported a broad number of clients in their career transitions and led national, European and global talent acquisition projects for pharma and biotech companies in the Oncology, Immuno-Oncology, Rare Disease, CNS, Cardiovascular and Metabolism space. Stefanie graduated in 2005-2007 successfully from the ECPM course. In 2020 she trained as Coach with the NeuroLeadership Institute, which provides a solid framework and methodology to help leaders and organizations facilitate positive change and lead more effectively.
