  • Since 2010, Matthias is also Head of the Medical Economics Unit at the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute of the University of Zürich, Switzerland
  • He is a member of the Steering Committee (Studienleitung) of the Postgraduate Programme in Public Health of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zürich, Switzerland
  • He received the venia legendi in the field of "Health Economics – Public Health" from the Medical Faculty of the University of Zürich, Switzerland, in November 2009, and was awarded the title of Professor (Titularprofessor) in July 2016
